- Get your file from Prospects Influential as a "Comma
Separated File" (CSV)
- Import File in Maximizer - click File on the menu
bar of Maximizer - scroll down until you see "Import
Address Book Entries"
- You are now in the Import Address Book Entries window
- use the browse button to find the file you generated
- under format, switch it to "comma-delimited(,)"
- under "Type of import" select "contacts" - under
"Error Handling" select "Display each error" - click
ok
- You are now in the Select Fields For Import Window
- highlight the Maximizer field you need on the left
display click add - after you have selected all the
necessary fields click import
Note: (Adding Fields for customizing) Not all
fields may be present for the file you intend to
import. If you would like to add more fields ("user
defined"):
- In Maximizer on the menu bar (at the top of
the program) click on File.
- Scroll down to "Setup-User-Defined Fields".
- A window appears click the ADD button to add
the field(s) you need (Another window will appear)
- In the Text box type the name of the field.
- Under "Type" select the type
- Under "Field may be added to" recommend selecting
default setting of all check boxes
- Click ok - Made a mistake? To Delete the field
highlight it click delete
- Click cancel when you are finished adding the
necessary fields

Creating a New Database
- Click on File and New Address Book Folder.
- Type in a name for the folder in the Description
of New Address Book Folder: box.
- In the Location of Folder: box click on Browse
and select the drive and folder where you want
to save the new address book. Click OK.
- You should see a box that prompts you that the specified
folder does not exist, do you want Maximizer to create
it for you? Click OK.
- The next box will ask you if you want to copy your
preferences, templates, etc. to your new address book
folder. In the Copy Files From: box select
Database and click Yes.
- You will need to add any fields from your file that
you do not already have in your Maximizer database.
To do this, click on File and Setup User-Defined
Fields.
- You will get a blank User-Defined Fields:
box. Click on Add
- In the User-Defined Field: box type the name
of one of the fields from your file.
- Under Type: select Alphanumeric.
- In the Maximum Field Length you can use the
default unless your fields are longer than the default
length. Click OK.
- Continue the process until you have all of the fields
defined.
- When you have all of the fields defined click Close.
- You are ready to import the data!
Importing the data
- Click on File and Import, then select
Address Book Entries.
- In the Import Address Book Entries box select
the type of import you are doing, whether the file
contains Companies/Individuals or Contacts.
- Under Format: choose comma-delimited (",).
- In the Filename: box type the drive, directory,
and the filename (example: C:\My Documents\List.txt).
Click OK.
- You will see a box that says Select Fields for
Import. On the left you will see the Available
Maximizer Fields:. On the far right you will see
the fields from our file. You will need to match these
fields up. To match the fields, click on the field
on the left side that corresponds to the field on
the right side and then click on Add so they
match up in the Order of Import: box.
- Continue this process until all of the fields match
up.
- If your file contains headers put a check mark in
the box that says Do not import first record; it
is a header.
- When all of the fields are matched up click on Import.
- Maximizer will then tell you how many records were
imported and how many were skipped. Click OK.
- If you want to view the list in your Address Book
right now, click OK.
