WinFax Pro 9.0
Important!! You will need to process your
data through Fieldkeeper before you attempt to import into Winfax
9.0.
1. From
the File menu, select New and then select Phonebook.
2. Click
on Create a New WinFax-format Phonebook, then click Next.
3. Type
in a name for your new phone book (ex. My Phonebook), then
click Next.
4. If
you get a screen asking if you want to make the file read only,
click Next.
5. On
the next screen, click Finish to complete this portion of
the data import.

6. In
the File menu, click on Import, then select Phonebook.
7. Make
sure the format selected is ASCII, then click Next.
8. Click
on the Select button. In the Look In box, click
Next.
9. Click
Next again.
10.
Highlight the phonebook you created, then click Finish.
Note:
The records you have imported are now available in the phonebook
you created. These records will need to be grouped if you are going
to perform a broadcast fax. For information on how to group
your records, contact Symantec at (800) 798-0850.
WinFax Pro 7.0 & 8.0

- From the File menu, select New and then
select Phonebook.
- Give this phonebook a name that you will recognize. Example:
List.
- Double-click on the Phonebook that you just created so
that it is highlighted. You should see an open book icon
to the left of the new Phonebook, as in the example below.
- Click on File and Import. From the Import
Phone Records dialog box delete the following fields (Note:
To delete a field, click on it to highlight it and click
on the Delete button):

- Click on the Select button.
- Click the down arrow in the Look In: box and select
the drive where your file is.
- Double click on the folder that contains the file and
select your import file and click OK.
- When prompted to split the Local Number, answer Yes
and WinFax will begin importing the records.

| Note: The records you have imported
are now available in the phonebook you created. These records
will need to be grouped if you are going to perform a broadcast
fax. |
WinFax Pro 4.0
- Click on the Phonebook Icon from the Icon Bar.
- Double-click on the New Phonebook/Group Phonebook and
give this phonebook a name.
- For Type, make sure Phonebook and Add New
are selected.
- With this Phonebook open, click on Fax and choose Import.
- From the Import Phone Records dialog box in the Field
List Section, delete the following fields (Note: To delete
a field, click on it to highlight it and click on the Delete
button):
- Recipient CSID
- Title
- Atwork Alias
- Address2
- Fax Type
- Fax Area Code
- Fax Extension
- Voice Country Code
- Voice Area Code
- Voice Extension
- Billing Code
- Misc
- Notes
- Mail Type
- Mail Addr
- Public Mail Type
- Default Modem
- Click on the Select button.
- In the large Directories box, double-click on the drive where
your file is and then locate the directory that your file is in.
When you see your file double-click on it and select your import
file.
- When prompted to break phone # into its components, answer Yes
and WinFax will begin importing the records.
